1.9 Snapchat Icon meanings

If you don’t exactly know what all the Snapchat icons in the Snapchat app mean, you are on the right page to find out. On this page we are trying to explain most of the icons which are included in the Snapchat app. Most of all, we will focus on the quite unknown icons, as the other icons will be described on other pages of this Snapchat guide.

First of all, we are going to explain what the icon next to your Snapscore means. Next to your username and Snapscore you can see a possibly unknown icon. The color and structure of the icon could differ, so we will only use the one’s from Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android. This icon is based on your birthday, as it’s a zodiac. Below you can find all the icons available, with the date ranges noted.

Capricorn: December 22 – January 20

Aquarius: January 21 – February 19

Pisces: February 20 – March 20

Aries: March 21 – April 20

Taurus: April 21 – May 21

Gemini: May 22 – June 21

Cancer: June 22 – July 22

Leo: July 23 – August 22

Snapchat icons meaning

Next to these icons, you may have noticed the icons in the ‘chat menu’. When you swipe to the right when you’re in the camera functionality, you get to the chat menu. If you’re an active Snapchat user, you can find several different icons there, at the left side. We will explain those icons more precisely below. They can be categorized as Sent, Opened, Received, Viewed and Screenshot Icons.

Snapchat Icons and Emoji’s

The Snapchat app offers various other icons, which will (mostly) be described on the other pages of this Snapchat guide.
For example, you can find the Friend Emoji in our guide. These Emoji also show up at the Chat menu, but you might also notice them when looking at your Friend list or when selecting someone to send a Snap to.
